MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation (MTJF), along with Sprint Cup driver Martin Truex Jr., are teaming up with the Philly Pretzel Factory of Mooresville, NC to raise funds for the Martin Truex Jr. foundation. Foundation Executive Director Kelly Janow and Foundation Coordinator Dawn Hines will be spending this Wednesday afternoon at the Philly Pretzel Factory twisting specialty pretzels in the shape of the foundation's trademark little fish. The pretzels, which signify Truex’s favorite hobby of fishing, will only be available at the upcoming events for the Martin Truex Jr Foundation.
The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation – Helping Children In Need focuses on helping charities with limited name recognition in Martin’s home state of New Jersey and his current residence of North Carolina. The owners of the Philly Pretzel factory, who are also from Truex’s home state of New Jersey and currently reside in North Carolina, have been avid supporters of the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation since opening a local establishment in Mooresville, N.C. The Philly Pretzel Factory specializes in hand twisted, fresh baked soft pretzels with no preservatives and fat-free pretzels, which provides a healthy snack for every family.
The two organizations teamed up last week to provide over 100 fish pretzels to the Mooresville/South Iredell Chamber of Commerce “Racing to Make a Difference through Motorsports” Foundation Luncheon at Penske Racing on Thursday, May 15th.
The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation and the Philly Pretzel Factory will be offering the specialty fish pretzels at several events throughout the month of May, including this week at the Martin Truex Jr. Open House which will take place in Mooresville, N.C. Monday through Thursday at the driver’s private office which will be open to the public. Fans will be able to view Truex’s trophies, personal pictures, and memorabilia and purchase MTJ souvenir products. A portion of the pretzels sales will benefit the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation.
Starting May 30th through June 1st both the Martin Truex Jr Foundation and the Philly Pretzel Factory will be supporting the Dove House at their event, Rockin’ Rib Fest. The Dove House is a children’s advocacy center serving Iredell and Alexander counties in N.C. Both the foundation and pretzel company will have booths at this event so make sure you stop by and get your Martin Truex Jr. product and a pretzel.
Together the Martin Truex Jr Foundation and Philly Pretzel Factory hope to touch many children in a positive way.
