TULSA, Okla. -- The next round of action for the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP is this Friday night, as the series takes to the high-banked, 3/8-mile Winston Speedway dirt oval in Rothbury, MI, for the first time this season.

Friday’s event, presented by Renegade Racing Fuels, is also the fourth round of the MAHLE/Clevite Short Track Challenge, an eight-race mini-series within the overall ASCS SOD tour. Dustin Daggett has topped two of the three previous Short Track Challenge rounds with Ryan Grubaugh also posting a win.

Friday is also the ASCS Sprints on Dirt Canadian Sprint Car Nationals Shootout Qualifier Race, with the winner landing an automatic starting berth in the race of champions at Ohsweken Speedway on September 16.

Dustin Daggett, fresh off his fifth series win of the year this past weekend, is atop the ASCS SOD point charts ahead of two-time series champion Brett Mann with defending champion Ryan Grubaugh, Robert Huisken and Davey Brown rounding out the current top five.

The rest of the current top ten includes Jim Lingar, Matt Lumbert, Ryan Ruhl, Marques Huffer and Ken Mackey.

Dain Naida became the series first repeat winner in six ASCS SOD events contested at Winston Speedway over the past five years with a triumph last July. Other Winston winners include Gregg Dalman (2009), Mann (2008), Ben Rutan (2007) and Gary Fast (2006).

Friday’s action at the Winston Speedway is set to get under way at 7:15 p.m.

Winston Speedway is located in Rothbury, MI, off US 31 to Winston Road exit, then 0.2 miles west. For more information, contact the track at 231-893-3023.

The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP is in its 32nd season of competition. Twenty-seven races are on the calendar scheduled at 13 different tracks throughout Michigan, Ohio and Ontario.

Anchored by the Lucas Oil Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters, ASCS also consists of ten different Regions throughout the nation.
