CAYUGA, Ontario -- The Can-Am Stock/Super Stock Series will open its 2004 season as part of the AutoZone Super Chevy Show at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, Ontario May 14-16.
The Can-Am Stock/Super Stock Series was formed in 1999 and continues to grow each season. The participants, known for their awesome wheelies, are fan favourites wherever they appear. The series is run as one class under the rules of the IHRA/NHRA Stock and Super Stock categories.
“It’s going to be a big weekend and we are very pleased to be a part of it,” explained F.J. Smith. “We expect a record turn-out of entries and with the Cayuga Dragway 50th Anniversary being a part of the weekend we expect to see a lot of friends we haven't seen in a long time.”
The Cayuga Dragway 50th Anniversary will be a special part of the AutoZone Super Chevy Show Tour event. What was once a military air force base for the Royal Canadian Air Force blossomed through the years into one of the pioneer drag racing facilities in North America.
The AutoZone Super Chevy Show will be the first event of its kind at Toronto Motorsports Park, and will be the first in Canada. It is expected to draw hundreds of race and show cars, along with thousands of spectators, vendors and swap meet vendors.
Toronto Motorsports Park is located in Cayuga, Ontario just 60 miles from both Toronto, Ontario and Buffalo, New York.
The AutoZone Super Chevy Show is a touring series of drag race / car show events held throughout North America. Highlighting the drag racing portion includes the Nitro Coupe class, jet car, wheelstander, exhibition racing and the Can-Am Stock/Super Stock, plus the world’s largest single-make bracket race and car show series, along with manufacturers’ midway and swap meet.
