Friday, July 31, 2009 $4,000 to Win Southern AllStar EAST this Saturday at Cherokee Speedway

GAFFNEY, S.C. -- The Southern All Stars East Racing Series returns to action this Saturday night August 1st at Cherokee Speedway with a 40 lap main event paying $4,000 to the winner. With no other traveling series racing in the Carolina’s this weekend fans can expect a great competitive field of cars. The last Southern All Stars EAST race at Cherokee was one of the best of the season, with Rambo Franklin, Jeff Cooke, Jeff Smith and Casey Roberts each leading laps, but it was Georgia’s Casey Roberts who would lead the most important last lap and get the hard fought win.
These drivers and many more are expected to be on hand this Saturday Night. Casey Roberts holds a comfortable lead over second place Monk Gulledge. EAST Rook of the Year Contenders Colby Cannon and Zach Cox are 3rd and 4th followed by 2006 Series Champion Dennis ‘Rambo’ Franklin. Franklin is followed by Chris Madden, Larry Blankenship, Ethan Hunter, Johnny Pursley, and Jeff Cook rounds out the top 10.
Support Divisions racing for weekly points will include Limited Sportsman, Renegade, Young Guns, Street Stock 4 and Super Stock 4.
