KEARNEY, Mo. -- Putting a stamp on a highly productive rookie season across USRA Modifieds and USMTS Modifieds, 13 year-old Trevor Hunt won the Iron Man Challenge championship in the #99h FVP Modified. With the championship in hand, Hunt and FVP have signed a two-year extension of their sponsorship to allow Hunt to compete for the 2013 USMTS championship.

“FVP is excited and proud to partner with Trevor Hunt Racing in their quest for the top spot! Trevor and his parents are a fun and dynamic team to work with and perfect partners for the FVP family of products," Director of FVP Lawrence Badzin said. "In just a short time, we’ve watched Trevor mature personally and grow professionally with his constant success including his championship this year!

In 15 Iron Man starts, Hunt picked up three victories and 11 top-fives. Hunt's 2012 complete statistics up to this point include 11 wins and 44 top-tens racing across the Midwest.

"At the beginning of the 2012 season my goal was to win 1 B-Mod race," Hunt said. "I had no idea that I would be able to win 11 races and that 3 of those would be within the Iron Man Challenge Series."

The 2011 USAC Ford Focus Young Gun champion on the West Coast took to the USRA B Modifieds quickly, and was in victory lane by his seventh race on March 31st at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas. Hunt has gone on to add wins at Valley Speedway in Missouri, Highway 3 Raceway and Upper Iowa Raceway in Iowa, and I-35 Speedway in Missouri.

With Hunt's rapid success in the USRA B Modifieds, the team elected to debut in full USRA Modifieds on July 7th at Valley Speedway where they picked up a fourth place finish. Hunt ran with the USRA and USMTS Modifieds throughout the summer and became the youngest driver to ever race with USTMS when he made the feature at Upper Iowa Speedway in August.

Hunt's 2012 schedule will conclude with USRA Modified starts on back-to-back weekends at Valley Speedway, before heading to Baytown, Texas with the USMTS at Royal Purple Raceway on November 15-17.

The busy end to the 2012 schedule with many USMTS appearances will give Hunt the preparation to take on the nation's toughest dirt modified tour in 2013.

"Even though I only spent one season in a B-Mod, I learned a lot of lessons that will help me next year running the USMTS series in the FVP/JRi Shocks/Eibach Springs 99H A-Mod," Hunt said.

Running for the 2013 USMTS championship with a high profile sponsor such as FVP is a huge accomplishment for the young driver.

"I am very excited to have FVP on board for another 2 years," Hunt said. "They are a wonderful, family based company that we are proud to have a partnership with!"
