TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series is proud to announce the addition of another big early Spring event at the famous Florence Speedway, Union, Kentucky. On Saturday, April 16th MSCS will roll into Florence Speedway for a special event on the beautiful half mile high banked clay oval. Florence is operated by Jerry and Mona King who have successfully operated the track since 1984. The Union, Kentucky track is noted for their premiere Dirt Late Model Races. The North/South 100, Ralph Latham Memorial, and Spring 50 are all part of this Speedway. The regular program is opeated from March until October with Late Models, Modifieds, Super Dirt Stocks, and Pure Stocks as regular classes. The MSCS Non-Wing Sprint show will share the bill with Late Models.
The MSCS drivers will be into their Hoosier Tire Points chase by Florence. The "Spring Fling" will run the 9th and 10th of April at the Terre Haute Action Track on Saturday and Spoon River Speedway, Canton, Illinois on Sunday. Alex Shanks of Marion, Illinois will be back to defend his 2004 title. Chase Stockon last years "Support Division Champ" at sixteen years old and Travis Thompson runnerup in both classes will be out to try to take the 2005 title.
