by Steve Scheidker, VP Racing Fuels
SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Officials with the Championship Auto Racing Series (CARS) Pro Cup today named VP Racing Fuels as the series’ “Official Fuel” for the 2012 season. Under the agreement, VP110 racing fuel has been designated as Spec Fuel for use by all CARS Pro Cup competitors.
“I am very excited about the new partnership with the folks at VP," said Jack McNelly, owner of CARS Pro Cup. “ Everyone at VP has been willing to work with us to provide the Series with an affordable, quality fuel and to support the Series as the ‘Official Fuel of the CARS Pro Cup Series.’" McNelly is in his first year as owner of the series, after previously owning race teams competing in the former Hooters Pro Cup Series as well as the NASCAR Nationwide Series.
“We’re looking forward to working with Jack, his staff and all the teams racing in CARS Pro Cup,” said Robert Rodgers, VP’s Regional Manager-South. “We’re excited about Jack’s plan to grow the series and are glad to support and be a part of it.”
For each event, series officials will manage distribution of fuel at the track. Teams should contact jackm@carsprocup.com to order fuel in advance of each event to ensure sufficient quantities are available on site. Technical questions about VP110 can be referred to VP’s Tech Support staff at ovaltracktech@vpracingfuels.com or 302.521.1767.
In addition to racing fuels, VP’s product line includes ethanol-free C9 storage fuel; SEF Small Engine Fuel, an ethanol-free fuel formulated specifically for 2-cycle and 4-cycle portable gas-powered equipment; PowerMaster hobby fuels for R/C racing; and fuel handling accessories. More information about VP’s products is available online at VPRacingFuels.com, SEFfuels.com and PowerMasterFuels.com.
The CARS Pro Cup series begins its 16th year of racing with the 2012 season, formerly operating as USAR Hooters Pro Cup and the USARacing Pro Cup Series. A true stock car touring series, CARS provides quality short-track racing dedicated to providing a place for up and coming drivers to cut their teeth and for veteran drivers to continue to perfect their craft. With longer races than most local tracks or other touring series provide, as well as having live pit stops during the race, CARS is a fan favorite and a great value for your dollar.
