Marcham Rolls into Hickory with Momentum from Two Consecutive Top Fives

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Trey Marcham has been one of the hottest drivers in the UARA-STARS Series over the last two races, scoring a fourth and a second place finish in the last two races.

With those races in his rearview mirror, he's proven to be inching in on his first career UARA-STARS Series win, despite only running four of the six races on the series schedule so far this season. He finished 12th in the first two starts after being spun in both events and rallying back for the finish, but in the last two races he's reeled off a fourth place effort and a second place finish.

"This team just keeps getting better every week," said Marcham. "We started out the season knowing that the competition was going to be tough, but what we found was that we were having great race cars, but a tough time staying out of trouble. We seem to have figured that out now and we're showing it with top five runs in both the last two races."

Finsihing second at Newport Speedway a week ago, Marcham had a little help to get to the finishing position in the form of a little luck. He managed to for the most part miss the carnage ahead of him, which late in the race took out the top three cars. Marcham drove a smart race and stayed out of trouble, which proved to be the key in a race filled with tore up race cars and hurt feelings.

"That was a wild race. At one point there, I thought it was a demolition derby, they were tearing up so many race cars," laughed Marcham. "That race proved that if you can stay out of trouble in these UARA races, you can get the finish that your team deserves and we never gave up."

Marcham is looking to ride that momentum into Hickory Motor Speedway this weekend, which will be the first time that he's raced at a track twice in a UARA-STARS Series car.

"Going back to Hickory, I think we can have a great run. I haven't had the great finishes at Hickory, but I have had good cars and good runs and I think with the momentum we have on our side right now we can get another top five. Maybe we'll find ourselves in a position to win again, you never know."

Marcham is supported by RD Marcham Energy, Inc., Simpson Racing Products, LeNorman Operating, Pinnacle Energy Services, Performancenter Racing Warehouse and Roger Johnson Engineering.
