WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa -- The NRA Sprint Invaders will begin their 2005 season with twenty-two confirmed race dates, ten of which will be shown statewide in Ohio on Time Warner Cable, where teams will be competing for over $400,000 in total prize and point fund money. This year, the NRA is proud to be partnering with twenty-six contingency sponsors. The value of the contingency awards program is in excess of $45,000 which proves the stature of the NRA Sprint Invaders organization and its ability to market its sponsor’s products. As the NRA enters its seventh consecutive season, the popularity of 360 sprint car racing in Ohio continues to grow.

The first race of the season is this Friday at Limaland Motorsports Park. By the time the season wraps up in late August, NRA Sprint Invaders teams will have competed at Attica Raceway Park, Butler Battle Grounds, Hartford, Eldora Speedway, Knoxville Raceway, Fremont Speedway and I-96 Speedway.

There are several special events on the schedule. The first is the annual Run for the Rabbit which honors the memory of Travis Miller. Memorial Cup VII will feature a NRA vs. SOD grudge match with $2500 going to the feature winner. The 6th annual Firecracker Friday will pay a similar purse. The King of Michigan and Limaland’s 70th Anniversary race will pay the respective winners $3000.

There is a special home and home 305 challenge set up between Limaland and Fremont which will have an additional payout if someone can win both nights. Finally, the I-96 Speedway Harvest Classic is set to pay $5000 to the winner.

The NRA Sprint Invaders won the Tournament of Champions back in 1999. This year, a renewed emphasis is being placed on representation at the event. Look for several NRA teams to challenge the best 360 sprint car organizations and teams at Knoxville Raceway during this year’s 360 Nationals, Casey’s Night and the Brodix Tournament of Champions.
