BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Tour will making it’s long anticipated return to the Holland Speedway on Saturday, June 30th for the “Holland 100”. The race will feature the RoC Modified Tour on one the premier northeast asphalt facilities. Qualifying heat races will get underway at 6 p.m.

Joining the Modifieds will be the lightning fast TQ Midgets, Late Models, Chargers and Holland Hornets. The Modified 100 could prove to be one of the most entertaining of the entire 2012 racing season. The full blown Modified teams will have their hands full with the 2 barrel Sportsman teams that will be looking to make their mark on a track that will be very favorable for the 2 barrel cars.

The 2 barrel Modified teams are running for their own point fund and a $500 top finisher bonus at every RoC Asphalt Modified Tour event this season. So far T.J. Zacharias and Daryl Lewis, Jr. have taken advantage of the $500 top finisher bonus at the RoC events held to this point.

The configuration of Holland Speedway will certainly lead to a great balance between the open wheel Modifieds and in the past the action has been incredible. The TQ Midgets will certainly be an awesome show as they will be able to run wide open on the banked macadam surface.

The youth movement continues on the RoC Asphalt Modified Tour as two first timer winners Kyle Ebersole and Daren Scherer have set an early season standard to the veteran chauffeurs. Ebersole began the season with RoC wins at the Shangri La II and Oswego Speedway’s. Scherer recorded the popular win at Spencer Speedway on June 8th and took over the current point lead in the process. Another young talent, Jimmy Zacharias is currently third in the point standings after three events. Defending Series Champion Chuck Hossfeld is fourth with former RoC 200 winner Billy Putney in fifth place. New Jersey driver Andy Walko leads the southern drivers with a current sixth place in the standings followed by former multi time champ Matt Hirshcman, J.R. Kent, Wilbur Hebing and Rusty Smith.

Race fans can also take advantage of a $2 off grandstand admission program put in place for this event. Simply bring any ticket stub from any of the tracks hosting a 2012 RoC Asphalt Modified Tour event and save $2 off your grandstand admission. This includes the following facilities: Chemung Speedrome, Dunn Tire Raceway Park, Holland Speedway, Oswego Speedway, Shangri La II Speedway, Spencer Speedway and Wall Speedway.

Lap sponsorships have been compiled for this event along with a number of other special bonuses. Over $2,500 in lap and bonus money has been posted for the Holland 100. Pit gates will open at 2:30 p.m. with grandstand gates opening at 4:30 p.m. Practice will run from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with qualifying action to get underway at 6:00 p.m. The Modified 100 is slated for 8:15 p.m.
