Stronghold Motorsports

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- Anchored by seven-time Supercross champion, Jeremy McGrath, the 2012 edition of the Stronghold Motorsports/Monster Energy off road racing team returns to the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series with RJ Anderson now taking the reins in ProLite while Cameron Steele looks to reclaim his ProBuggy crown.

As one of the series' most popular drivers, McGrath made an immediate impact in his first full season in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series having compiled six trips to the podium on his way to a fourth place finish in the 2011 Pro2 standings. He is now approaching the upcoming year with increased expectations in this, his second season with Stronghold battling in the series' marquis class. "We have spent countless hours and hundreds of laps fine tuning the truck," said McGrath. "Last season was solid and we had some strong results but now we have an opportunity to take advantage of everything we have developed over the last year and put ourselves in contention for the Pro2 title."

Along with teammate Cameron Steele, McGrath will continue to be featured in series broadcasts as he provides his expert commentary on what is being touted as the most extensive broadcast schedule the sport has ever seen. In addition to his television duties, the versatile Steele will immediately be considered a class favorite as he returns to the ProBuggy field to once again stake his claim on the title he captured in 2010.

RJ Anderson, the newest addition to the 2011 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Super Team of the Year, brings with him an unparalleled pedigree and heritage linking him to the legacy of Walker Evans Racing's off road racing success. RJ has compiled an impressive list of accomplishments while rapidly progressing through the ranks of short course off road racing's junior divisions. Anderson's standout 2011 season saw him competing in UTV's, the spec SuperLite truck class and ProLite trucks, while collecting a remarkable 26 podiums in 38 starts along with his very first championship in the UTV Class.

"We are proud to bring aboard the next generation of off road racing superstar," said Stronghold Motorsports managing partner, Scott Bailey. "Our organization has a great deal of respect for the Anderson and Walker Evans Racing families, and the exceptional level of success they have accomplished both on the track and in the off road racing industry. We are excited in mentoring and continuing RJ's development as we contend for the ProLite title in 2012."
