Wednesday, June 6, 2012 Valenti Modified Series Ready for Seekonk Saturday

CANAAN, N.H. -- Two-time series champion Jon McKennedy of East Chelmsford, MA., takes a slim 10-point lead over Rowan Pennink, of Huntingdon Valley, PA, to Seekonk Speedway, Seekonk, MA, Saturday night, June 9, when the Valenti Modified Racing Series returns to action after a three-week layoff. The race is the first of three scheduled at Seekonk this season for the VMRS.
McKennedy won races at Waterford, CT and Winchester, NH., in April. Pennink went to victory lane last month at Thompson, CT.
Seekonk, a popular stop for the New England based series, draws a strong field of competitors, and a full field is expected Saturday night.
Madison, CT., veteran Mike Holdridge, already a winner at the Seekonk oval, is expected to enter the event. Defending series champion, Chris Pasteryak, of Lisbon, CT., Les Hinckley, Windsor Locks, CT., Louie Mechalides, Tyngsboro., MA, and Todd Annarummo, Swansea, MA., all previous visitors to victory lane at the famed racetrack, are expected.
Todd Owen, Somers, CT, Eric Berndt, Meriden, CT., Max Zachem, Preston, CT., and Nashua, NH, veteran, Norman Wrenn, will compete
