TWIN FALLS, Idaho -- Horsepower Heaven at Rocky Mountain Raceway included the ASA Pro Trucks as part of the oval track action. Defending series Champion Jerry Rice did his part making sure the fans got to see an action packed race. Rice started 12th in the field and made his way to the lead on lap twenty-eight of the forty lap main event. The combination of his main event win, passing points and heat race points propelled Rice into the season point standings lead.

Drew Reitsma had his best Rocky Mountain Raceway finish bringing home second after winning his heat race. Sam Harris had his best finish at Rocky Mountain Raceway coming across the line just three tenths of a second behind Reitsma. Harris had made it as high as second but with a green white checkered finish. Harris chose the outside grove in an attempt to give Rice a run for the win. Rice got the jump on the restart and Reitsma hung with his following him to the line.

Jeff Pohlman was able to hold on for a fourth place finish after spending much of the practice time in the pits with carburetion issues. Johnny Pierre offered up the much needed carburetor allowing Pohlman to race. Pohlman was given a little heat at the drivers meeting and was given a Hot Pink Childs Booster Seat! “Jeff said he was having trouble seeing over the dash and hood last week and that is why he kept hitting the back of Rice, so we decided he needed an official ASA Pro Truck Booster seat” said series director Randy Kerr in the drivers meeting. “I think sometimes you can make a point without making it a huge issue, Jeff asked me after the meeting if he could pass it on if anyone else deserved it. I also noticed he really didn’t use his bumper during the race so, I guess it worked” said Kerr after the event.

Alan Larson rounded out the top five after setting the pace in the second practice session. “We haven’t really worked on the car much, I was building a shop and just didn’t have the time. Dugger came over this week and we lowered the truck like 4 inches. It really turns a lot better now” said Larson after the second practice.

Several driver made their season debut. Kent Jensen brought out the number 11 and had made his way up to the fourth position before contact with Scott Luttmer sent the two to the back of the field with only two laps left in the race. Bo Sharp returned in the teams backup truck after having trouble getting the new body mounted on the primary truck. Sharp was able to set fast time putting him at the rear of the field for the start of the race. Sharp motored the truck to a seventh place finish. Chad Radmall brought the number zero out for the first time in three years. “I’m just a little rusty, when it started going around all I could think was stay on the gas and try to get out of the way” said Radmall after spinning the truck exiting turn four while leading the race.

Rice was presented with a $50 gift certificate to Ultra Cool Brake Fans. Ultra Cool is a proud supporter of the ASA Racing and the ASA Pro Truck Series. Ultra Cool can be found at www.ultracoolbrakefans.com The Ultra Cool move lasted for over twenty laps as Rice slowly and patiently picked off his competition one by one on his way to the front.

The ASA Pro Trucks return to action June 2nd 2012 at Magic Valley Speedway on the third mile oval. The ASA Pro Trucks will be the feature division with a fifty lap main event scheduled.
