Racing to Return to Fulton Speedway Saturday, August 7th

FULTON, N.Y. -- Action will return to Fulton Speedway this Saturday, August 7, on Burke’s Do It Best Home Centers Novelis Can Collection Night. In race competition will be the DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds Dig Safely NY Bonus Bucks event plus the SUNY Canton DIRTcar Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman, Gladiators and the Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club. Race time is set for 7 p.m. with everyone ages 18 and under admitted for free.

Jimmy Phelps and Matt Sheppard are currently separated by just 36 points in the DIRTcar Big Block Modified point standings. Pat Ward, Billy Decker and Alan Johnson complete the top five in the all star cast. Michael Storms, Tom Sears, Ryan Phelps, Dalen Planck, Jim Witko, Chuck Bower, Chris Hile, Chad Phelps, Larry Wight and Mike Bowman complete the top 15 in the strongest field in DIRTcar Big Block Modified competition in the northeast.

Jeremy Pitcher is the current point leader in the SUNY Canton DIRTcar Sportsman class with Jordan Bennett still in striking distance. Tim Devendorf leads the way in the NAPA Late Model rankings with Gus Schmidt, Gordy Button and Dale Caswell not far behind. Matt Emmons is the point leader to date in the E&V Energy Novice Sportsman class ahead of Scott Kline and Colton Donath. Keith Zirbel and Skip DeGroff are only separated by 14 points in the Gladiator class. This Saturday will mark the final appearance this season by the Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club.

This Saturday Burke’s Do It Best Home Centers will present Novelis Can Collection Night. The person that turns in the most cans will receive a ride around the track in the Roger Phelps Used Cars Pace Car. Everyone that turns in 25 cans or more will be eligible for special drawings. The cans will be collected outside the main gate.

Fulton Speedway gates on Saturday, August 7 will open at 5 p.m. Race competition will start at 7 p.m. Adult admission is just $12 with everyone ages 18 and under admitted for free.
