LAS VEGAS -- The Bullring’s summer break soon will come to an end as Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s 3/8-mile asphalt short track resumes its 2012 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.

season on Saturday, Aug. 18 with a late-night special event. Spectator gates will open at 7 p.m., instead of the usual 5 p.m.

Classes will include NASCAR Super Late Models, Lucas Oil Modifieds, NASCAR Super Stocks, NASCAR Bombers, Legend Cars, Thunder Roadsters and Bandoleros. The Lucas Oil

Modifieds will close the show with a 75-lap feature race.

Austin Barnes of Escondido, Calif. currently leads the Lucas Oil Modified Series point standings. The 17-year-old Escondido High School student knows the way to the Bullring’s victory lane.

Fans may save $2 by purchasing tickets in advance at the LVMS ticket office. Advance-sale tickets are $10 for adults ($12 on race day) and $8 for senior citizens and active military personnel

($10 on race day). General admission parking is free.

The Bullring’s concession stand features a family-friendly dollar menu, including $1 hot dogs and $1 Coca-Cola products.
