INDIANAPOLIS -- Select NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series drivers including Funny Car racer Mike Neff, Pro Stock Motorcycle teammates Andrew Hines and Eddie Krawiec will take part in a special autograph session at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum on Aug. 11th in conjunction with the Hot Wheels For Real™ exhibit. The autograph session will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside of the main entrance. Those entering the Children’s Museum will not only be able to get autographs but also see NHRA cars on display at the entrance to the museum. The Hot Wheels for Real™ exhibit features rare collectible Hot Wheels cars, life-size versions of Hot Wheels cars and interactive displays. Also families can customize a car with decals, wheel covers, and send cars rushing down a wall-mounted track.
“We are thrilled to take part in this autograph session at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum as part of the Hot Wheels exhibit,” said Wes Collier, general manager of Lucas Oil Raceway. “The NHRA and Hot Wheels have a long storied history together and we look forward to having top drivers in the Full Throttle Drag Racing Series as part of the autograph session.” All three of the drivers are some of the many racers who currently call Indianapolis home and will be competing at the Mac Tools U. S. Nationals presented by Auto Plus taking to Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis on Aug. 29-Sept. 3. The biggest names in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series will blast their way toward the finish line in search of the most coveted victory in all of drag racing. Stars like seven-time Top Fuel world champion and eight-time Mac Tools U.S. Nationals winner Tony Schumacher, Funny Car driver Robert Hight, Allen Johnson in Pro Stock and Hines and Krawiec will all be looking to win the most coveted race in the sport. Tickets for the Mac Tools U. S. Nationals can be purchased by going to NHRATix.com or by calling 1-800-884-6472. One of five drag racing facilities owned and operated by the National Hot Rod Association, Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis was built in 1960 and has presented organized racing events since 1961. From March through October, the facility hosts more than 120 dates of racing on three tracks, a quarter-mile drag strip, a .686-mile paved oval and a 2.5-mile road course. Home to drag racing’s biggest event, the NHRA Mac Tools U.S. Nationals over Labor Day weekend, the drag strip runs more than 50 days of point-to-point action, from national events to street legal community programs. The oval track draws racing’s biggest events, including annual visits from the NASCAR Nationwide, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and annual USAC races. The road course provides a home for several racing sanctions, while providing an ideal resource for driving schools, corporate outings and open-road tests for professional drivers.
