Hell Tour, Kenny Wallace at Peoria Speedway Tonight

PEORIA, Ill. -- The UMP Summernationals “Hell Tour” returns to Peoria Speedway tonight, Monday, July 2, along with the Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals and Limited Late Models. The “Hell Tour” race will pay $5,000 to-win and will points will be awarded for the $5,000 to-win “Budweiser Super Late Model Series”. NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace will also compete in the UMP Modified division, which will pay $1,000 to-win.

Brian Shirley, who has won 2 Bud Series races at Peoria, holds a slim 29 point lead over defending Hell Tour Champ Shannon Babb coming into the race at Peoria tonight. Babb is the defending race champion. 38 cars were on hand for the 2011 Hell tour event at the track. Billy Drake has a 4 point lead over Kevin Weaver for the “Bud Series” title.

NASCAR driver Wallace will be in competition in the UMP Modified division in his own car. Gabe Menser is the current point leader for the Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals. A stellar field of Modifieds is expected as well, and track points will be awarded.

Zac Kuhel of 2 Kuhel Motorsports is sponsoring the Limited Late Model feature tonight, which will pay $600 to win. In addition, cars finishing in positions 2-10 in the LLM feature will draw for an additional $100 cash prize.

Pit gates open at 4 PM tonight, with grandstands at 5 and hot laps at 6. Admission is $25 for adults, $22 for seniors, $5 for ages 8-15, with under 7 admitted free of charge. Pit passes are $35. For more information, fans can log onto www.peoriaspeedway.com or www.thehelltour.com.
