INDIANAPOLIS -- Bud Kaeding continues to lead the 2012 USAC West Coast Sprint Car series standings but third-ranking Ryan Bernal continues his pursuit of the series leaders July 7 at Santa Maria (Calif.) Speedway. He trails Kaeding by 88 points after his victory in last Saturday’s “Bud Stanfield Memorial” at the third-mile dirt oval.

Bernal led the first three laps of Saturday’s race, trailed Danny Sheridan for the next seven, then returned to the point and paced the final 20 circuits to beat Sheridan, Matt Mitchell, Kaeding and Danny Faria Jr.

Mitchell continues to rank second in the standings after Saturday’s race, 56 points behind leader Kaeding.
