West Coast Sprints 'off' Until September 8; Richard Vander Weerd Takes 'Jim Evett Memorial' at Kings

INDIANAPOLIS -- Bud Kaeding of Campbell, Calif. will rest on a 92-point lead in USAC’s West Coast Sprint Car series until the series resumes September 8 at Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif.

Kaeding was fifth in last Saturday night’s “Jim Evett Memorial” at Hanford. He trailed winner Richard Vander Weerd, Shane Golobic, Austin Liggett and Markus Niemela.

Vander Weerd, of Visalia, Calif., passed Ricky Kirkbride on lap 10 and led the final 21 laps for the win, his first of the season after three previous podium finishes.
