INDIANAPOLIS -- Saturday April 21st was a huge night of motorsports at the Bryant Heating & Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome. Eight classes in all challenged the fifth-mile including two from the INEX Sanctioning Body. The INEX Legends had their penultimate point program in the Carmel Sod Spring Fling series while the Performance Racing Products Thunder Roadsters had their second ever Speedrome event. The INEX Legends are taking a forward peek towards championship night on Friday April 27th. But before that finale, there was a full slate of races this evening. Former track titlist Tony Holden topped the heat race results over Marty Griffin and Tyler Payne. The feature launched with reigning INEX Speedrome Bandolero king Chris Hacker leading the way. Griffin soon slipped past in an effort for victory and to cut the small gap to point leader Mike Hacker. The race came down to red on lap 3 when Marc Anderson's #33 came to a turn two stop. The battle resumed with Payne now pressuring Marty. Tyler got the job done nearing midway sending Griffin back to third with Tony now second and Mike a close fourth. The 2-time home track Junior Faskart champion Payne went on to win for the 2nd time in 3 starts in 2012. Holden slipped high late giving Marty the runner-up finish followed by Hacker.

The Performance Racing Products Thunder Roadsters rumbled onto the one-fifth mile first in preliminary action. The 8-lap dash saw Marty Griffin fly to the win after a great jump from his outside front row starting spot. Nathan Shrout and Larry Broyles rounded out the heat race podium. The main event went green with Shrout guiding the field with Marty right there for two-thirds of the event. Griffin then had to deal with a challenge from Broyles. That pair made contact coming to get the white flag tangling in a turn four heap and a red flag. The remaining green-white-checkered saw Tony Holden try to steal the win but could not. Shrout made the happy trip to victory lane in only his second ever start at the Speedrome.
