INDIANAPOLIS -- A hot weekend of racing kicked off Friday June 15th at the Bryant Heating & Cooling Systems Indianapolis Speedrome with UAW and HARF night. The program featured 7 divisions in action including some tight competition from the INEX Legends. An enthusiastic gathering of fans cheered on the drivers as they chased their victory dreams. The series competes every Friday night at the Speedrome through mid-September. The intense Speedrome track championship battle would resume on this evening. The INEX Legend point lead has been all but a mathematically tie during the most recent weeks. Tonight's quest for success started with preliminaries. Heat one saw last year's overall season runner-up Joe Thurman tops over Chris Hacker and Jon Watson. The second heat had Ty Rose, who was returning to the scene of a devastating April crash, victorious over John Robbins and Tyler Payne.

The 25-lap main event caught the green flag with Marty Griffin slipping into the first position. The Master division driver, who started 2012 as the runner-up in the Spring Fling point series, was aiming for his first regular season Speedrome feature win. His mirror was full from the jump with Thurman closest to his back bumper. Joe had several tiny opportunities to stick a nose in, but opted to keep the paint on both cars. Marty solidly stayed on point the entire distance to claim the long-awaited victory. His happy emotions were displayed with a series of smoky donuts. Joe settled for second with Robbins, Rose, and Payne rounding out the top five finishers.
