BETHEL, N.Y. -- In celebration of the 5th anniversary of the prestigious LegendStock event, it was recently announced by the Bethel Motor Speedway management that the total purse for the event had been raised to $5,000. LegendStock 2012 is slated for Saturday, August 4, 2012. As a result of the increased purse, all cars taking the green for the 50-lap INEX Asphalt Nationals qualifier are guaranteed a minimum payout of $100.

LegendStock is unquestionably the most publicized and attended Legends race in the area, drawing in Legends drivers from across the Northeast and beyond. Since its inception, the race has boasted talent from more than ten different states, and drivers have come from as far away as Georgia, Minnesota, and Texas. The early entry list for this year’s event – which is being sponsored by Alliance Shippers – includes some of the Northeast’s top talent, hailing from Bethel Motor Speedway and other tracks. Three-time winner Daniel Hemric has a prior commitment, which leaves the door wide open for anyone in the field to take home the $1,500 overall winner’s payday and one of the three-foot tall guitar-shaped trophies that have become a trademark of the event. The trophies, valued at a combined total of roughly $2,000, are awarded to each of the division winners, with the Bandolero race winner also taking one home.

In addition to the Legends portion of the race being a qualifier, the Bandoleros will be running an INEX Bandolero Nationals qualifier. Quality Bus Service has stepped up to sponsor the Bandolero race, offering a $125 gift certificate to NorthEast Legends to the winner of each division.

Registration is open for both the Legends and Bandolero races that will be held at LegendStock 2012. The car and driver entry for Legends is $70 until July 21st, and $85 after that date. As is the case with all 2012 races at Bethel, the entry fee is waived for Bandolero drivers.
